Translations in French, German Spanish and Russian wanted for all key programs - 'key' programs are the programs required to setup and install Akita.. For fixed and updated translations, you can just post the file contents here - just make sure the filename is clear - dotpup.mo, for example.
Translations: Menu entries
- Look in /usr/share/applications/
- Open a .desktop file in your text editor
- Edit the translations save, click Menu->Refresh Desktop
Translations: Simple method
- Look in /usr/share/locales/*/LC_MESSAGES for .mo files, containing translations
- many .mo files open in a text editor and can be copied, improved, etc
- some .mo files do not open in a text editor, these files require poedit, see below
Translations: gettext/poedit method
- Poediter for Akita: Download
- Install poediter, type 'poeditor' in the terminal to run it
- then look in /usr/share/doc/nls/*/, for the .po files
- these files contain the base translations, from which others are made
- the final result will be a .mo file, that can be placed in /usr/share/locales/*/LC_MESSAGES
- more info here and here (thanks rodin.s)
Hope you enjoy Akita Linux
