Cleanup up utility reqired

#1 Post by sjsrikanth »

I wish there would be a pre installed application like bleachbit or janitor to free up space in one click.

right click paste or copy in terminal would be cool too!!

Interesting suggestion. It would probably be better if someone compiles bleachbit specially for puppy.

I'm not sure if right click is possible, I haven't seen it in any distro I've seen, but it would be great!

I've thought this would be nice too. Two folders that hold flashplayer bits and /var/tmp that holds opera crash logs are the places i manually clean.

I've always used Bleachbit with Ubuntu Tweak so If someone makes a .pet for Bleachbit, also make one for Ubuntu Tweak.

Those two programs are indispensable.

In the console terminal that comes with Puppy.

Copy- left click hold and highlight

Paste- middle button click

Also works to copy from terminal and paste to other programs.

Also if you use copy method that comes with other programs you can paste in terminal by middle mouse click.

DPUP5520 has a BleachBit pet for Lucid 520 to 525 here:

http://www.mediafire.com/?3f00aiwp1bedgh8

To run it needs Python-2.6-Lucid available from the Puppy Package Manager.

Thanks Bernie_by_the_Sea , yea I would have mentioned my pet if I had seen this thread earlier, the bleachbit pet that I put out will work from 501 to 525 as which is what it was tested on , as for any other puppies I wouldn't know but you could always test and report back on the thread that I posted Bleachbit if you have any other version of puppy and I can fix for any other versions.

this site has shown consistency for hosting : http://www.datafilehost.com
perhaps the original http://sourceforge.net/projects/portabl ... 0/download will only work with python .haven't tried it.

@aarf
I use mediafire simply because it was the first hosting service I came upon, I would use my own personal server except i'm hardly ever home and if something went wrong It'd be down for a few days. It seems there a problems wit the mediafire site right now I can't even log in. I haven't had a chance to compile the newest version of bleachbit yet but will soon when I have some time, in the meantime 0.7.3 works pretty well.

Edit: The bleachbit pet that I posted works without python installed because I have included all the required python modules into the pet which I now realize was a bad idea, The next one i post (0.8.7) will not include the python modules and will require python2.6 be installed.
