How can I use the TOR browser in Puppy?

#1 Post by tybias136 »

Hi, I just started using Puppy today.

I'd like to use the TOR browser but I'm unsure if such a (.pet?) exists for it?

I was wondering if anybody knew a version of Puppy for which a version of TOR (a .pet? I'm not sure of the terminology) was readily available and working.

So my concern is simply GETTING A VERSION OF PUPPY TO RUN TOR!

Thank you for reading!

however there are tor browser packages for slacko and lucid puppy in there package managers
Bionicpup64 built with bionic beaver packages http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=114311
Xenialpup64, built with xenial xerus packages http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=107331

a .pet for Tor for lucid Puppy is available here ... http://distro.ibiblio.org/puppylinux/pet_packages-lucid/

NB: Read the small print on Tor before using it.

Thanks for the help, hopefully I'll be able to easily install TOR in either slacko or lucid once I need to...If not I guess I'll post another time asking for help :)

The version I have running successfully in Lucid puppy 525 is "TOR-Browser-1.1.13",
there are more recent versions which I haven't tried yet.

Update:
I've just tried "TOR-Browser-2.2.35-3-Lucid52.pet" which works ok.
