Dwarf Fortress

#1 Post by FactorialX »

Hi,
I'd really like to play dwarf fortress, but it comes in a ".tar.bz2" file. I've looked around but didnt really get the compiling stuff, while the wiki said it was already compiled. So does anyone know how to run Dwarf Fortress? Or can anyone make a .pet file?
Thanks.

click on the tar.gz and unzip it. Then click on the 'df' script to play...

In lucid puppy this needs two deps

libsdl imagehttp://mirror.pnl.gov/ubuntu//pool/univ ... 1_i386.deb
and
libsdl ttfhttp://mirror.pnl.gov/ubuntu//pool/univ ... 1_i386.deb

if you have a different puppy you made need some other deps. open the folder with dwarf fortress in , right click and choose 'window' then 'terminal here'. type.....

Code: Select all

./df
and press return, it should tell you what you need.

i ended up making a dwarf fortress pet. as there was some tinkering to do, to get the sound working. You didn't say what puppy version. This is for lucid puppy, if your puppy is a different version let me know.

You can download it here

here's some info about editing the init.txt http://df.magmawiki.com/index.php/DF201 ... cal_tricks

The mouse wheel zooms it to fit the window.
