So far, I am pleased with the tablet. It is a great platform for reading and there is a version of FBreader which works well. I have had some adjustment issues though. I downloaded about three different browsers because I wanted to be able to stream internet radio. Each time I tried to minimize the browser, it closed it and shut down the stream. I am beginning to understand the "there's an ap. for that" concept that these devices use and found an application which will continue to play streaming audio while I am reading.

I don't have one and don't plan to get one. I use desktops and laptops.
They are wireless, don't plan to use that either. Possibly a paid up cel phone for emergencies.
Cheers

My wife wants a tablet. She does not care if it is android, apple, or windows.
She won't touch the Puppy USB I made her for her compaq Laptop. Though when Windows7 breaks. "Honey can you look at this". So the USB gets used then.
I'll probably break down and buy her one.Trouble is my druthers are too high for what I will fork money out for on a Tablet.

After seeing that. I won't settle for anything less. Linux compatible. Good battery life. Lots and Lots of features.
When I save up the bucks. I'll get her one. Then she can give me back the
M&A Companion PC I bought her earlier.
Edit: Shot that idea to hell. Guess I gotta look someplace else

My EEEPCs and Acer Aspire ZG5 which run Linux fit my vest pocket on my motorcycle vest when riding scooters. Connects to free wifi hotspots just fine. I like Netbooks except for the teeny weeny keyboards (I can imagine my huge hands and fingers trying to navigate a touchscreen tablet). I can barely type as it is.
Voice recognition Puppy Linux OS. From Install to Desktop is the only way I'll be able to handle a tablet. From terminal commands to browsing. I know that tablets are the future and that they are big overseas and in big Cities in the USA and also with the younger generation.
I sure wonder though about all this snagging peoples wireless phone connections though using tablets and tablet phones. Seems to be a easy thing to do. As well as govt. tracking of satellite wireless phone connections. Creepy.

Oh yeah
A lot needs to happen before then.
I have used voice recognition on Android and Ipad3
Android is a lot better than anything I have used on Puppy.
The Ipad is better still.
I still prefer a full keyboard, a good monitor and a desktop.
For an operating system - Puppy.
Diversity of OS and device usage, will enable and empower us.
So rokytnji has been advising me on using apt-get
as I pretend to be a Raspberry Pi-oneer developer

Getting Puppy on a tablet, we are now underway . . .
working towards hardware

Necessity works sometimes: My wife had a a bit of windows malware 2 years back and I left a Puppy CD in her machine the night before. When I woke Saturday morning she told me that she had read her email and checked her favorite web pages. When I asked her how she did that she told me that she turned on the machine, went to get some coffee and when she returned she used this "Puppy thing" to get on the web
