compiling audacious 2.4.4 error (solved)

#1 Post by PuppyPusher »

every time i try to compile audacious 2.4.4 or 2.5 i get a error can not find libmowgli but i have compiled and installed it i even made it into a pet package but no luck i assume it can't be done or im over looking something when im doing this, any help would be grand im not a big fan of pmusic which is what im stuck with in quirky 1.4 and dont have speeds to download(soft modem ) much bigger nore do i want anything else besides audacious im also pretty fresh to puppy with little XP on compiling. a point of a finger in the right direction would be helpful for a pet for libmowgli that might work for me.

What version of are you running and compiling it in? and what is the exact file it says you are missing and maybe I can put together a complete package for you.

Plugins pet can be found in same post too now, I did a quick and dirty job but it works fine in mine can't say the same for you using Quirky though, people have apparently had problems using some of my pets in Quirky and wary so let me know if it works and if not i'll try to fix it for you.

Hi PuppyPusher nice to see another Canadian here :) I compiled libmowgli it on 2.14X and include the dev files, Its a new version found at http://hg.atheme.org/libmowgli/libmowgl ... ip.tar.bz2
maybe try the pet it should work, I didn't try it because I like beep mediaplayer better, its more stable I find. http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?p=350029 <-- beep sources

first off thank you for all of your quick responses to my issue with this.

dpup5520 i did get it working after adding some libs tho i didn't keep track of what ones i did need to install i grabbed them out of lighthouse pup. and thank you for your time..

ttuuxxx thank you for showing me another option i never thought of beep i use to use it in the previous lighthouse pup but had audacious on the brain from the current LHP. and thank you for your responce on this. :D and libmowgli worked i tested it. and good to see a fellow canadian here 2.

billtoo i would also like to thank you for your time and files i took the time to test them they worked fine. thanks again. also a shout out to a Canadian!

and finally my biggest problem was how i was trying to compile the packages i was skipping steps but figured out where i was going wrong after reading more into the forms i caught myself and my errors i hope in the future i will be able to return the favor to all of the above. probably the fastest response to a form i seen for linux without getting an ear full for posting.

im currently in love with this Linux OS (i was a windows usr b4 this but now only run puppy derivatives) i have had many issues with other Linux's but puppy seems to be the fit i been looking for. and i will continue to promote and try my best on compiling packages for puppy as i become more aware of what im doing.thanks again!
