I like to run mplayer from the command line. Once I finally figured out how to use the keyboard, it is now my preferred way.

I want to change where the onscreen display appears and how big it is. How can I do that?

Now, when a movie is running and I type 'o' I get an onscreen display (OSD) in the upper left hand side and a rather large font. I would like to put that in the bottom right and make it smaller.

I'm running Puppy 5.20. I've looked around the web and tried a variety of things, but nothing successful. I've edited /root/.mplayer/config with a couple of things but was unseccesful, along with /etc/mplayer/mplayer.conf. I'm missing something but I don't know what.

I can make it smaller if I run from command line like this and include the osd comment:

Code:

mplayer -menu -subfont-osd-scale 2 -vo x11 -zoom -aspect 4:3 movie-to-watch.avi

But that can get a bit tedious and I can't figure out how to move it from the upper left of the movie...ideas?

I don't think that's possible.
Google (mplayer osd location) shows a couple of people asked in the past on mplyer-user but didn't get any replies.

BTW, are you sure you want to use x11 as the output? xv is usually the best.
