1.0.2 multisession: no bootscreen options.

#1 Post by topquark »

I burned a multisession v1.0.2 CD. I booted up but forgot the extant pup001 file left from screwing around all day. Actually I had 2. I deleted both files and rebooted to Puppy. It didn't ask if was multi session. I didn't see any menu, pressing "5" then enter did nothing. Do I need to burn another multi CD?

If I remember right, 1.0.2 didn't have a bootsplash option menu. Barry didn't put that in until 1.0.3.

Try 1.0.3 and see what happens.

Good luck.

So much to read, so little time. All things being equal, exactly equal, 1.0.2 will boot on my machine and 1.0.3 will not. Methinks that Barry made some minute change in 1.0.3 that my machine doesn't like. I have very many other current Linux distros, live CD and otherwise that ALL work well. It ain't me this time.

Minute changes??

1.0.2 uses a 2.6 kernel, 1.0.3 went back to the 2.4 as there were some issues with the 2.6 at the time.

I believe 1.0.4 will be using the 2.6 kernel though.

1.0.4, eh? I wonder when that will be. I really don't care as long as I may continue to work my way uphill to the nuthouse.
