Somebody PM me about making my Cloud posting clearer
As they did not not provide a link it may refer to the previous post or something else
| Quote: | I'm sure many others that look at your links DO NOT KNOW THAT ALSO. Would it be too much trouble for you to do an EDIT there and possibly put in something like this...
Try Cloud Computing Right Here From Your Current System!
When you click on the FIRST link, Click On The Icons In
That Link, that will take you right to some cloud apps
for you to try out.
When you click on the SECOND link, Click on the icons in
the browser-bar. Then click on any of those links. Again
this will take you right to some very nice Cloud Apps! |
Anyway . . . they might mean another post - sorry . . .
Using hotspots on an image is a way of linking to Cloud services that is
inexpensive in terms of resources . . .
Just click on the icons on the image . . .
Just an idea . . .

haha nice... I like it...
I personally would choose different 'cloud' (online) services, for example, this one is nicer, as it loads up straight away - http://www.editgrid.com/untitled
But there's loads around, just a matter of finding ones that fit best into the 'desktop' style, and it's your preference of course...
Also Zoho Office, many online task managers, and so on... Could turn into a nice online resource - all with a nice familiar Puppy Desktop!

Cloud computing means different things to different people |
|
Cloud is an airmass that has some common material carried thru the air. It can be vapor of some kind, ash, etc. Some clouds are floaters all the way to some that are deadly. The only common thing is air as a medium for transport. If the internet is considered to be a medium for transport, what is a cloud in the internet? (Don't try answering that as it is rhetorical) I have attended many conferences, planning sessions, and seminars over past 6 years. Cloud is applied to just about everything that floats over the internet...depending who/whom is leading the discussion.
Notwithstanding, I offer you the ultimate in a cloud, here. Your very own PC (for free) on the internet. Yes, for FREE! Now that's a cloud allowing you to save your work, etc. ("Go ahead, login there and provide all of us your feedback")
I don't know about you, but I'll bet that if you coupled Master_Wrong's Cluster Technology with a PUPPY which served Puppy desktops to logon users, AND cobble one computer from each member of the PUP community together into a "cloud cluster", you would produce a CLOUD so big that all of us could run without ever downloading or installing anything. Further, if done correctly all who participated could contribute freely and commonly for all.
Now that's a BIG A@@ Cloud!!! Wow

You will know the Cloud is coming and is partly inevitable.
Most commercial and governmental agencies are very
keen on expanding this model.
Puppy on a server, running much like the Ubuntu model
is always possible.
However there is another model emerging
and that is an OS (almost) hardwired in the computer.
That model exists in some netbooks (in an internal SD card
for example) or the quickboot options
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Splashtop
Smartphones already come with a fast boot OS
and are the fruition of the Cloud franchise
Dpup, Spup and Upup all have the potential bases
to move us to the smartphones of the future.
Every cloud can be grounded.
Stay frisky
