USB to Parallel Printer adapter question
Re: USB to Parallel Printer adapter question
No. But if you are willing to risk the $8.00, let us know how it turns out.fernan wrote:Any experience with this kind of adapters in Puppy (I'm running 5.2.5) on a Toshiba Satellite Notebook. Printer is an HP LaserJet 5L.
These adapters work under Puppy Linux
I've successfully installed a Seikosha SP-2400 with a USB to Parallel cable under Slacko. This is how I've done it:
- Open "CUPS" page
Click on "Adding Printers and Classes"
Select "Add Printer" under printer printers
Select "SCSI printer" under local printers
Click on "Continue"
Type the following next to "connection": parallel:/dev/usblp0
Click on "Continue"
Follow the rest of the instruction as you would as if it was connected to a parallel port
