I agree, and others have asked how to set the weather widget. The configuration isn't easy, esp. for non-US locations, but clicking on both the 'www' and 'help' buttons makes a big difference.
LHP 5.03 stays with kernel 2.6.33.2 and Xorg-server 1.7.7
@Jim1911,
I'm making some progress on the bugs reported in this thread. Hope to have an update soon to address some of them. In further testing I found that the updated Mariner SFS '503' is usually not loaded when upgrading a save file, even if it is on the boot media. The previous Mariner will not load either. A proper fix requires an updated initrd.gz and new ISOs. As noted previously, this bug does not affect new installs or new save files.
For now, those using Mariner SFS and upgrading an earlier save file to 5.03 will need to
- Place the new 5-Mariner-5G_503.sfs in /mnt/home (or in the same directory as the LHPsave file)
- Boot with LHP 5.03 and
- Either
- Re-select Mariner when prompted to press Enter early in system startup, (text mode) and accept prompt to upgrade to 503 or
- Accept upgrade to 503, then from desktop, use Menu|System|BootManager|Choose SFS to enable 5-Mariner-5G_503.sfs.
I also found that the CUPS Printer Manager does not start unless one uses Menu | Setup | Cups Printer Wizard and click 'Yes' when asked if you want to add a new printer. Even though cupsd is started during boot, opening http://localhost:631 in a browser doesn't work as it should. I don't know why that is so, but I found that inserting
Code: Select all
/etc/init.d/cups start
