Bugs is a funny bunny

Reporting Bugs:

I wrote to Barry with what I thought might be Bugs. However I have found the biggest bug, tends to be me.

For example I reported that 1.0.2 RC is slower to boot up, which I think is true. The "generic ps2 mouse isa/0600 serial" that comes up seems to be there a bit too long (but still not long enough for me to write it down) and then when Puppy does appear the mouse sometimes takes a secod or two to start responding.

Now the boot up time from HD - previously with 1.0.1 it was 20 seconds now it seems to be 28 secs but there is no obvious bottleneck apart from perhaps the mouse and the possibility that Puppy is now booting from hda2 which I set up as swap drive . . . and is maybe less than 256 meg whereas before I think it was in 900meg

So the thing is, I try to report bugs but not sure what or how to do this.

So those of you who are a bit more savvy . . .

Perhaps we can have a user database on the forum where we can store our system settings - or have some sort of system checker - like Dr Watson? Or a series of tests to run on our hardware?

I think it should be called "Wassup Doc"

Meanwhile I am gonna install XBasic on Puppy (hope that's as easy as last time) and see if I can convert the only program wot I ever wrote to Linux. It's a cure for migraine

. . . I hope it is not a cause . . .

:) Do your best
