No Sound in 1.0.7 clean pc install. Xproc - System Information is blank. Snack Tone Gen. complains: "Could not gain access to /dev/sound/dsp ..." I know I wrestled with this on another pc but cannot find those notes. Thanks! doc _________________ Thanks! Have you tried installing ALSA? (Read the whole thread before commencing.) It solved all my sound problems. |

After attempting to get ndiswrapper working I now again have lost sound on my wife's pc. It is not the first time that loading ndiswrapper has created unrelated problems, which is one of the reasons I try to avoid it. Below is the error message from the Snack Tone generator app. Does it shed any light on what may have happened? Meanwhile I am going to try reloading ALSA on the assumption that while wrestling with ndiswrapper something related to ALSA was corrupted.
