what is the model of your laptop? Settings aren't sticking here either.whitlecj wrote:Well thought I had it figured out. I have to go into fisynclient after each reboot to set it back up. I am saving it, but it isn't sticking after a reboot. Anyone know how to correct?

Gentlemen the problem is one I meant to correct for this rc and did not will fix before I release the final it has to do that Xfce does not use the start-up foulder and that is where the decman for fisyncliednt is started. Will be putting in the Xfce start up and that should fix the problem.

Puppy Package Manager
Hi Grumpy, great looking product. Just a quick question. I cannot seem to use Puppy Package Manager. I have several pets I keep on my flash drive. MyWolfe is having a problem with them. I cannot seem to install them. When I double click on them, they will not install. I tried to open them with Package Manager, but I cannot seem to open them that way either. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Rob

I did a frugal installation of wolfe028 to a partition and tried to run it but failed to start the X window. When I tried to set my LCD display with xorgwizard, it still didn't work. Also tried 'probe', 'choose' and even 'vesa' mode, trying to get it work, but all failed.
I have installed Quirky/Lighthoush/Fluppy in the same partition (under different subdirectories) and everything seems okay when booting them using Grub2.
Anything I need to do to get wolfe028 running?

Puppy Linux | Arch | antiX
Start up the puppy that works and go to Menu system and Hardware info something and do pci and look for graphics? I guess Wolfe need to know what graphic card your motherboard think it use. some have it built in the mobo integrated and some have such separate.
Maybe it has to do with kernels. that is why they make Wary it has a kernel that works better with older computers and Fluppy works better with new small Netbooks 10" or such small ones.
Snow Puppy has tried to combine the best from many so try that one too.
But first get to know what your computer have. Mine have Intel 945 graphics chip set. Maybe yours are ATI?

For frugal installation, four files from the ISO have been copied to a subdirectory on one partition (ext2 format). These files are:
initrd.gz / vmlinuz / wolfe_028.sfs / zw028341.sfs
The grub2 config file (under my main system linux mint) was then modified to boot wolfe.
My computer specifications:

I am not sure why it is not booting up right that is very close to the same as my wifes computer and hers booted up just fine from cd. The vesa is not a workiing part of the xorg only xserver.
Edit
Wanted to ask you to post your grub boot for MyWolfe for me and if not to much trouble can you burn a cd and boot from it to see if it is the boot sequence.

Acer Aspire One ZG5 160 Gig HD Model
Used F2 then F3 at bootscreen and used
option as regular don't touch nothing gives tty job control turned off.
Looked for a md5sum for download. Could not find one in thread, MyWolfs links, or Well Minded Search. Just pointing this out. No biggy.
Checked bash version. Version 3.00. Wondering if I install this frugally on a 4 gig pendrive, if I can use Puppy 5.2 bash 4.1 pet at bottom of thread.
http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewto ... ff695722dc I ask because I am not to schooled on what T2 base is compatible with. I will also want to run pianobar from http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=62581 . Will try in live session first with these to see if successful.
I also see that urxvt is being used in XFCE 4.8. I know I can use another terminal but was hoping xfce-terminal was being used. No biggy. Just a observation.
Tap isn't working , though settings>session and startup> Touchpad box is checked. Connected Wireless via BarryK connection Wizard.
That is it for a short Sunday Test. I will let this cool down as my Atheros wireless chip is flaky on this unit and disappears after this unit heats up. I usually run a USB Wireless G Pendrive as my Wifi Access anymore.
I like the Wolfs Howl and Default Wallpaper as I use it in AntiX also. Cool Beans MyWolf.

ASUS EEEPC 900 4gig SSD/16 Gig SSD Model
Created a 512MB save file Ext2 file system on USB Drive. Then booted up on My EEEPC 900. Just used puppy pmedia=usbflash again. Worked OK.
Tap Works. Wireless Works (BarryK connection Wizard used).
Going to use this rig to look for a libfaad.so pet. See if I can get piianobar going before messing with bash 4.
EDIT: Not looking good . Got libfaad.so from http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=26202 and fixed previous error. Logged into my pandora account OK. But Get the same error I have gotten in Puppy Dingo 4 and ThinkLinux Puppy also
Sorry. This runs OK in Puppy 5.1 and 5.2 and MacPup Foxy 4.31. Don't shoot the messenger (just kidding).
Edit2: Another note. Internet connection dropped while editing my post. Same same happened on the Acer also. I did not think think much of this as I know the internal wireless on the Acer is flaky at best. This Asus is rock solid though. So just reporting that also.
