How to edit th menus in JWM/FVWM95

#1 Post by melonhead »

Hello Puppy Experts,
I am running both the regular Puppy 1.0.3 and the Barebones puppy. Because I want to add things or remove things from the menu, I would like to know how to edit the menu(s).

How to edit menus in JWM/fvwm95

Open a Rox window.
You should be in /root. Click on the 'Show Hidden Files' icon at the top - the one that looks like a very one sided game of Noughts and Crosses.

The fvwm file is called .fvwm95rc. Open this and add/subtract what you need.
The actual menu starts at around line 500 of the file.

The same for jwm. Open file .jwmrc. Menu script at the beginning of the file.

NB. Before doing this, it's prudent to make a backup copy of any file you intend to change - so if it all goes wrong you can fall back to the original again.
