Simple Network Wizard

The Simple Network Wizard(SNS) is removed in wary-500j04.
The reason is simply it does not work for me.
SNS does not support fixed IP, it may be one of the reason it is called 'simple'.
For the reason, the SNS assumes it is used with the help of the Network Wizard.
This situation makes the things complicated.
The original wary offers SNS first. If i try it and suppose got success, then it asks to set it as the default connecting tool. Its not so bad.
If i failed with the SNS, it offers next try with other tool. I try Network Wizard and suppose got success, it asks again to set it as the default connecting tool.

Hi Shinobar.
Live DVD first boot .
When i choose my settings "1024-768-24" and was asked to restart,
i did it and nothing ,just blank screen asking me to type xwin or xorgwizard .
I did it and again had the same blank screen .
Xwin again restart and finally got what i wanted after two restarts.
Second i can't start "CPU Frequncy Scaling tool"

Thaks, rcrsn51 for joining us.
I don't think your peasyscan is easier than Xsane maybe because i am already familiar with Xsane.
But there is a big merit that your peasyscan is much smaller than Xsane.

Hi shinobar,
have startet wary500j04 with xvesa, changed only language.
loading wary_devx_500.sfs after bootup disabled X totally.
xorgwizard xorg and xvesa failed.
used Xorg -configure

ISOMaster-iso-file-editor : need you? Yes, but I can get it per PPM
peasyscan --> Xsane : Xsane is fully localized, most users will need it.
MP-console-editor --> 'vi' command on urxvt : mp looks really nice, but never used it
Pdisk-partition-manager --> 'fdisk' command on urxvt : or cfdisk
Delete the rest

Confirmed.
It is because the devx has some file conflicting with the main sfs.
wary500j04 mounts the main sfs at the lowest level and the devx over it. This is
the important change of j03 --> j04.
One solution is that we prepare our own devx eliminating the conflict files.
But i think we may be better to revert the initrd.gz to the original.

So, the Simple Network Wizard works for me in Lupu 5.2 and in Barrys Wary 5 but not the one in Wary 5jp04. No success getting a connection. Uups.
I'm very interested in a NLS-Wary 5!!!

I wouldn't remove pmusic from the ISO.
It has so many features, such as burning a playlist
or converting tracks to mp3. I can leave pmusic playing
in the background all day long.
I even made a simple countdown timer out pmusic.

Gewiß doch. Muss mal meine einstigen (4.x/5.1) Ansätze einzudeutschen wieder hervor holen und vielleicht schaffe ich es auch, die zur Verfügung zu stellen...
Mal schauen, ob Wary 5 von shinobar nicht auch gleich in deutsch hochfahren (Desktop) kann. Der Rest dürfte sich ja ähnlich wie bei shinobars Local-Modulen verhalten.

CHANGES (See also the
j04 CHANGES)
- The main sfs is mounted at lowest layer to keep compatibility with the original, avoiding devx issue. (Thanks to L18L)
- Fixed cpu-freq was not run.(thanks to yordanj94)
- Fixed firstrun, 'Personal Settings', was fallen down to the console when seitching Xvesa to Xorg.(thanks to yordanj94)
- Fixed pnethood was failed to mount Windows 7 share, was not work 'Refresh scan' button.
- Improved /etc/init.d/10alsa, sound card recognition at boot.
- The 'Simple Network Setup' has come back.
- Applications removed from the main menu is moved to the 'Extra menu' . You can find them under 'Menu'>'Desktop>'Extra Menu'.
- Updated peasyscan-1.4 under the 'Extra menu'. nicoedit is moved to extra.
- Some .mo files other than Japanese are now built in: countrywizard, grub4dosconfig, puppy-desktop., frugalinstaller, pupsavecofig, welcome.
Almost Russian edition?
