Lucid Puppy 5.2.8 version 004 does not shut down

#1 Post by svgt »

Hello,

I use this newest Lupu on an old Intel laptop. If a choose the normal shutdown with power-off, then Gui disappears, the message <Lucid is now shutting down> appears. But following is a login command and the Gui is again on the display. The system is up as if I have initiated no shutdown.

This behavior is not certain. Sometimes the systems shuts down normally.

Regards

Somebody once taught me, to add to the "kernel" line .... in a program file I don't remember the name of, has to do with startup etc., .... to be opened as text ....

acpi=force

That worked really fine.

Did you try unmounting all drives before shutdown? Just right-click a drive and choose Unmount ALL Mounted Partitions. It seems I heard that might be a fix.

Name of the document i now remember (but on my USB stick I do not find it, has no Grub; I formerly had full install on harddisk): menu.lst (MENU.LST)
