Hello,

wine: cannot find '/mnt/home/StartPortableApps.exe'

Hi,

I am not at all sure that I understand this thread, However, I use Wine and PortableApps - if you drag and drop StartPortableApps.exe to your Desktop does it not work when clicked on?

If it does you can edit the description. change its icon etc.

My regards

I expect a mutual friend will translate this note as and if needed.

The issue here is that in Toutou FAT there is no StartPortableApps.exe and yet there is that message.

Hi Béèm,

Thank you for your help. May I ask if there is the desire to run PortableApps or merely to lose the message?

My regards

Hello,
Code:
#!/bin/sh
wine /mnt/home/StartPortableApps.exe

Cordialement!

Hi again Argolance,

I am still not following this thread too well, but in case it may help CCleaner works well with many (perhaps all) versions of Wine.

Cordialement

@Sir Jasper, can you look in your xerrs.log and see if you have the error message (see post 1) also?
If yes which version of puppy?

That's a good thing to know!

It is the case of all the WINE releases I ever tested. I had the temptation to delete it, because portable applications run well without it. But delete what seems to be useless is not a good solution! As Toutou and WINE run fine anyway, I thought it was more cautious to keep it. I plan to make a new FAT Toutou iso, integrating latest changes and updates and thought it should be interesting in solving this small problem (and others!) to make this release as clean as possible.

Best regards!

Hi,

In the latest version of the PortableApps platform the file is now named PortableAppsPlatform.exe and it would show at /mnt/home/PortableApps/PortableApps.com/PortableAppsPlatform.exe.

If you do not have the old platform I am sure you can delete all references to the old name.

In Lucid Puppy 5.1 and Luci 2.4.2 I do not have any log reference to the old start file.

My regards

Thank you for the update.
I already had a look at the platform suite earlier, but I fail to see what specifically the exe is doing.
Is it a kinda menu system for those portable apps?
