You may need to enable OpenGL for improved performance on your machine.jukingeo wrote:Hello all,
I had just set up Puppy Arcade 10 on a USB flash drive set to automatically boot on any machine. I have set it up to play Mame arcade games.
Now, while the booting part works great, the trouble I am having is that the games play slower than they should. I have SDLMame for comparison and it runs much faster there.
Would anyone know what would be the cause of the problem?
Thank You,

Links for OpenGL can be found here in the main post.
You could also try changing the video output from or to "Xvideo"
Also, you can use the frameskip option to skip frames when the game slows down.
You can disable sound to improve speeds if nothing else works.
All these options can be found in the SDLMAME conifg file, (in /root, double click on it to open it)..
Or in the Settings menus for SDLMAME, GXMAME and/or MAMEPGUI (depending on which you are using)
Hope this helps.
