have downloaded Quickpet_lupu-4beta1.pet and notice following under SFS get tab

Just click on your desired SFS and it will download, then you bill be prompted to make it into a pet

I downloaded GoOO.3.2.1 Lucid.sfs a few days ago from pet-packages-Lucid on ibiblio website.

rather than download this large file again using SFS get,
how can I convert this into a pet?

thanks

Another java-jre.sfs to test here http://puppylinuxstuff.meownplanet.net/DaveS/ It is a bit bigger at around 54MB but is a very clean install and seems bug free and fast. Please test.

Yes yarddog.. not implemented yet... and this will be only for full installs. I do have it working but not up to a release standard as yet. Maybe a day or so Wink

Cheers

playdayz, there's a problem with Amarok, it depends on stuff from the devx.

By the way, I can make a new xchat, something similar to what we have in Squeeze, but this time I can trim some functionality.

I am hoping that perhaps we will find a way for each wm to open by default with a background chosen by the developer, and even icons chosen by the developer. I think that would have more effect than using the same background, etc.

playdayz, I could probably make a script to run on first fluxbox start to do this very easy it would be similar as what I did for that 421 theme pack but only if you're sure about this.
I mean, maybe user just wants to switch WM and keep own wallpaper/iconset customizations.

Edit the file /etc/xdg/menus/puppy-multimedia.menu
-replace all instances of the term MultimediaSub with somethingelseSub Thanks upnorth. That will make it work correctly, as an end-user fix, but if we are lucky maybe it will fix it as built by Woof.

playdayz,

the problem seems to be, that
Code:
/usr/share/desktop-directories/Puppy-Multimedia.directory

and
Code:
/usr/share/desktop-directories/Puppy-MultimediaSub.directory

do both contain
Code:
Name=Multimedia

If you change the one for MultimediaSub e.g. to 'multimedia' and run fixmenus, the Multimedia-Menu-loop will be gone.

Having a subcategory with the same name as the category seems not to be a very logical thing at all (at least not for me).

so maybe this could be fixed in general.

Yes, dejan, I am hoping we will be able to do it for all of the wm's, in 01micko's wmswitcher. It would have an option to *not* make any changes. Thanks.

Fresh frugal install of Luci-233 on the old P3 test box. Everything worked fine on the initial boot. Installed Xorg_High and Opera 10.63....no problems. But,...........................

Downloaded the LXDE pet, reported libvte.so.9 missing, installed that and....no lxde...couldn't exit to a prompt from the menu, tried window manager switcher to go to JWM....no response.
Anyway, deleted the save file and started fresh. More later.

using luci 233

Updated wiki - notice new logo
http://puppylinux.org/wikka/Puppy52

Looking good Smile

Installed Seamonkey 209 and noticed chatzilla
not set for puppy chat? - still awaiting new chat client from Jemimah
- maybe nothing suitable available?

I was confused by the SFS installer (which is great)
Here is what happened:
Clicked on SFS in Quickpet
told me I needed to install Puppy to use SFS
. . . well I always run from DVD so not strictly necessary
what it meant was I need to either install or create a save file
OK created save file whilst rebooting

Now then where was I - ah yes . . . wanted NEW Koffice
. . . well I had an old Koffice.sfs on the hard disk
so deleted that BUT the SFS loader now no longer gave me the option to
install the a new K-office.sfs
