Acer Netbook >> eMachines eM350-21G16i
No sound...
Works on >> Headphone/speaker/line-out jack
I was sure that on earlier releases that the sound worked.
I just didn't notice it lately.
And yes I spent hours on this, trying to fix it.
I looked at every setting...changed Alsamixer settings.
If I press F2 in the settings...it doesn't like it.
I'm sure I read something >>> in the past
about Re-directing your >> output in Alsa.

Luc1 241 shows my sound card as >>>
Intel N10/ICH 7 Family HDAC
in the Alsa Sound Wizard.
Strange your version says 1.0.23 but Alsamixer reports >> v.1.0.22
Alsamixer shows it as >>> Realtek ALC272
No volume icon on taskbar on the first boot.
No sound
I suggest that Lucids Alsamixer v.1.0.22
is caused by a >> borked v.1.0.23 >> update???
Investigation needed.
If I could have found it I would have tried a newer Pet.
I know nothing about installing these things.

Fluppy shows it as >>> Realtek ALC272
Alsamixer v.1.0.23
As it seems to have no >> sound setup
I cannot supply more details.

Puppy 4.3.1 >> sound works
Alsa Sound Wizard >> v.1.0.20
Alsamixer also shows >> v.1.0.20

Lan works. Out of the box. >> after startup.
Wireless works....but not with encryption.
The world is changing ...and it ain't all for the good.
Many people have changed telephone habits....phone lines are out.
Why pay Telstra etc...here in Australia.
Security is now seen as more of an issue.
Even around me now....all the wireless is secured.
Not like years ago.
If the dummies haven't wised up....hardware suppliers have.
Higher Encrytion is needed.
Yes people can be hacked but do we advertise that
" Hey! Want to be hacked...use Puppy "
because it's too freaking hard to add Pwireless 2.
So that after all the thought and vision, the hardships, the fixes,
the arguments, the endless testing and the fellowship that exists on
this great forum, ( although not from me )...
will it be too much too expect that Wireless works in this day and age.
That people can actually connect when there is an easy way to do it.
That if users want more security...such as mine
WPA2-PSK (Wi-Fi Protected Access 2 with Pre-Shared Key)
Lucid delivers the goodies.
Yeah! I'm being a shite...
but either fix up your network wizards
to enable more serviceable protection or add Pwireless2
as a third option.
Talking of security I reposted this yesterday.
Encryption won't stop this....but it's scary.

Notwithstanding my problems....this is is a great release.
But the fleas make it irritating to use effectively.
And please put the dog back in the kennel.
Another wallpaper please.
Chuck out the sunset by Jesse...well past its use by date.
I think that I'm becoming as nasty as ..Sage...but without the wit.
Hey! I always liked Sage though.
