Having a bit of trouble with( AMD k CPU scaling tool requiring to reset it each boot .

Stu90, tazoc and I are working on this. I believe tazoc does it all with a file in /root/Startup.

My recommendation is to wait for luci-238 and see if it works as it should out of the box. Thanks.

I was successful with the new wacom tablet driver of charlie6
http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=16491&start=135
installing with wacom bamboo tablet.

I tried it on lupq511 and luci236 and it now
allows the proper shutdown procedure
so that a pupsave file can now be created.

mtpaint 3.34.57 works when the tablet preferences are
set up in the following manner....

Set 'stylus' to 'screen'
The other tools leave disabled.

Don't forget to tick 'opacity' and 'size'
or the pressure effect won't be seen .

About gxine :
I collected all the needed files from the last gxine dpup -005

Karl built a gxine pet because it works better to click on internal links in the video (as I understand it). It is mainly for DVD's. Some of hte audio formats don't play. It is in PPM. Thanks.

you missed a 't' from the link
http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distributions/puppylinux/pet-packages-lucid/flashplayer-10.1.102.64-lucid.pet

Anyway installed suggested flash made no difference
full screen flash produces 'white screen of death'

Yes.
And the Xorg_High driver might even be less troublesome for some newer cards (see Lobster's recent post).

The existing Xorg_High driver in quickpet works very well . . . except in combination with compiz. The existing driver works but the wobbly windows (for example) are moving too slow and jerky to be realisticaly employed.

PostPosted: Thu 18 Nov 2010, 17:06    Post subject: CUPS-SAMBA printer (SOLVED)

As far as I know (at this point) ALL SAMBA implementations from Shinobar/Mobeus/Rcrsn51 work!

This means that any PUP5.2 that utilitzes either of the SAMBAs (be it a PET or a SFS) will have a PUP that can do EVERYTHING a Microsoft PC or many of the other Linux distros do...FULLY for its LAN users! This includes print server functions with CUPS, as well.

For administrators, this means you can now set up a PUP5.2 that will allow you to avoid the $1000 - $10000 you would have to pay for a file/print/PDC/BDC/AD server. And its appears to run SUPER!

Go forth PUPPY enthusiast! These 3 Muscateers have blessed us with SuperDog proportions.

And to the Puppy antagonist, you will have to decide if you want your appraoch to provide this for newbie users to have out of the box or not!

PostPosted: Thu 18 Nov 2010, 21:16    Post subject: Losing Personal Storage

I asked once before but received no reply. What eats up personal storage and how do I check? I have 1 gig personal storage and it is down to 439 meg, It jumped from 800+ down to 444 overnight and now down to 439 a couple of hours since last checking it. Confused No, I haven't downloaded any programs during this time.

Only thing running is transmission - seeding some files. Shouldn't matter as all my important files are in a separate folder outside frugal install. This happened in 236 but not 235.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.. Luci-237 is running well although a couple times it dropped wired internet connection (DSL) and didn't reconnect.

thanks for all the hard work and effort Very Happy

Dropped another meg since posting!

Hi playdayz don't know if it will be of any help but i edited the first two lines in cpu-frequency-scaling.sh in /startup rebooted and frequency scaling activated as normal. Smile cheers.
Code:
modprobe powernow-k8
modprobe cpufreq-conservative

cd /sys/devices/system/cpu
for i in `ls -d1 cpu[0-9]*`; do

  echo ondemand > $i/cpufreq/scaling_governor
  echo 800000 > $i/cpufreq/scaling_min_freq
  echo 1600000 > $i/cpufreq/scaling_max_freq

done
echo 95 > cpufreq/ondemand/up_threshold

Do you have transmission save location and incomplete torrent location set to out side of your save file.?

Could be something with Transmission.
