Recently "quasi-traumatic" experience (MSN-AYTTM)

#1 Post by GustavoYz »

Hello, I have a question about internet security on LuPu501 based in one recently experience...

I have an ADSL -PPOE- connection. The first time that I use the AYTMM as a MSN client, it asks about one or two times about a Microsoft SSL certificate... I click on "YES" and everything seems fine, like always.

When reboot the computer, the connection fails many times and, when the connection "succed", my SeaMonkey home page is blanck, just blanck and nothing else happens.
When I use the quickpet, just for verify the connection, a blue screen on top saids something like "not connected to the internet" (not exactly that).
My "quick" solution was run the LuPu cd in the "pfix = ram" way to try reconnect, and -after save the session in a pendrive- connect succed!.

So, if somebody know how to use the AYTMM as a MSN client in a safe way, another good and safest client for Linux, or how to do something about the SSL certificate, please help me.

-Never, from that day until today I tryed any MSN client again...
And the internet connection works.

MSN is designed for Internet Explorer and Windows.
It is better not to use restricted and compromised software
from a convicted criminal supplier (Microsoft)
People are beginning to recognise that software extortion
to fund more clouded thinking is not viable. [end rant]

So inadvertently your trauma is beneficial
to your security. :)

PD: Dear Lobster my english level its not so good to understand what means a "tin hat". Sorry

Tinfoil hats are what people wear to stop the mind control beams from entering their heads.
