Free McAfee Removal Tool for Zero Day Exploit CVE-2010-2568

#1 Post by yorkiesnorkie »

Hi,

I just found out about Zero Day Exploit CVE-2010-2568 trojan issue on the Windows side of things and it's quite nasty, being spread through USB drives, and so on. I'm so glad I use Puppy!

Still, I'm annoyed that USB jumpdrives could be infected and used as a way to transmit the trojan. Seems like we have to watch out not to spread these things around even if we use Linux. Makes me think twice about plugging mine into a PC running Windows!

There’s a free removal tool from McAfee for Windows which catches this latest Trojan, it also removes 2816 virus, Trojans, and variants. I'm not sure if this will run under WINE or not.
