I use the HP Deskjet 3940, and already in the printer settings ...
but the printer does not work, and there is no response from the printer at all!
I'm supposed to do?

What Puppy version are you using? Did you install a driver package for this printer?

Very Happy Very Happy I also use the same printer tife at 5:01 puppy, the way that I use are as follows:
1. smbc_backend-1.0 install package (the printer CUPS Backend)
2. install package-3.10.2-dynppd hpijs (HP Printer Driver)
3. plug the printer cable to the PC
4. click on Menu / System / System status and config / CUPS manage printing /
5. Administration / Add Printer / next residence follow the commands that are / is completed

Nb : My PC specs: IP3 600 MHz, SDR 256, 10 GB HDD, VGA 32 Mb Sad

Are you connecting this printer directly with a USB cable? If so, you don't need the smbc backend. It is just for printers connected to a networked Windows machine.

Connect and turn on the printer.

Click on the CUPS Administration tab.

Select Find New Printers.

Your printer should be auto-detected.
