Please help if you can.

I have eth0 wired connection working swell.
I have string of fails on eth1. it appears to have auto selected the right driver module but since it cannot connect, i dunno.
But I have a detailed Error message if someone could help me figure out the resolution:

"Error!
Could not set default route through 192.168.1.1
Note that Puppy has tried to do this:'
route add -net default gw 192.168.1.1 and got the following error message:
route: SIOCADDRT: File exists."
