I know wine takes forever to compile. So hopefully this alleviates some peeps time issues.

Install using pupget. Install as an alien package

That's great that you got it packaged! You've actually beat me to it, as my current Wine package is a version older. One thing I noticed though is that the download size is around 67 megs, so I'm wondering if you stripped the binaries or not? It ends up being somewhere around ten megs if you get it all done right.

I stripped the files.

Download (11 MB, 56 MB extracted):

I just stripped,and changed nothing else.
I did not try the package myself yet, so please report if it works.

I used azureus for the download.
You should use the stripped version, as the unstripped needs over 300 MB on your harddrive.
The difference is only, that the stripped version has the debug-infos for developpers removed from the binaries.
Concerning functionality, they are identical.

Looks good so far. Installation wen fine, winecfg went fine, first program installed successfully, I think you've made a good package.

so i guess that means my windows disks are for the furnace for good then! Smile

that takes my COMPLETE linux installation to under 250Mb and it runs most things that 'some' 150 operating sytems do, hmmmmmm
