Subject description: veetle sh file?

I just tried to install the Veetle TV app.

They offer a file veetle-0.9.17-linux-install.sh

When I "sh veetle-0.9.17-linux-install.sh" I get their "license" to accept then a screen filed with endless rows of characters streaming upwards.

Is there a reason why it does this rather than loading the veetle app, please?

I know, I know, I said I'd wait on 006 but I had a few minutes to tinker ...

Yeah, you'll need a newer Qt if you want to build the GUI. I had no luck getting it to run with my static Qt so Ttuuxxx's qt pet is as good as anything.

There's a few symlinks I had to adjust to get it to build as well.

Subject description: Low audio?

I am observing low audio on my NB30.

I have turned it up on Multimedia - Mixer, on the taskbar, and on the streaming window.

Is this something that is addressed in 006, please?

Hi all

Jemimah what compiler and version does fluppy005 use as I want to install it to a full install? (if that makes sense?)

Cheers

Should I be able to view XviD streaming video via Seamonkey?

Got it sorted, just copied the contents of the devx sfs to a directory, used the dir2pet command and got a pet of the full devx which installs perfectly to a full install.

Hi everybody, Fluppy005 has problems with the libc6 needed to run JackSMS. When I install libc6 fluppy can'è open lxterminal, puppy package manager, rox-filer etc, nothing...Did you already know about this problem? Is there a way to fix it?

There's also a SFS Installer for Full Install on the menu somewhere that will do this for you.

Fluppy is only compatible with 4.3.1 packages. Updating libc is guaranteed to break things.

I think JackSMS is a java application anyway... where did you get the package from?

I recently installed puppeee 1.0 on my Averatec N1231, which works amazingly well, although certain function keys don't work. I'm running off a USB stick. I didn't realize at the time that Fluppy existed. I've installed some other apps and librarys from .debs, that I don't really want to go thru the hassle of reinstalling. Is there an easy way to change over from puppeee to Fluppy, or is it best to do a total reinstall?

I think you can just copy over the save file and rename it to flpsave.2fs. I don't see any reason why it shouldn't work, but make a backup first to be safe.

I believe that Fluppy 006 will include a fix to activate the function keys.

My Samsung NB30 is doing well with 005 but I am looking forward to 006.

That worked. The following function keys work ok both in puppeee and fluppy:

Brightness
Wireless on and off

Following don't work in either:
Sleep
Volume up and down
Mute

Closing the lid also doesn't put it to sleep.

Hardinfo sees them, but they don't do anything. Have I missed something in setup?

Jonlowe, open up Xbindkeys (on the Desktop menu), and try to capture the keycodes for the keys that don't work. Then send them to me and I'll fix it in the next version.
