Done! Thanks!
Love a simple way to purge the apps of a company that has gotten way too big for its boots.
BTW: I like the Trash app - good to enable recovery of an unintentionally deleted file.
QUESTION1: Is there a way to make clicking to open a folder a single-click as in other versions of Puppy rather than the MS-way (double-click)?
QUESTION2: Is there a way to select multiple results in pfind to delete or move? The usual ctrl-arrow and shift-arrow do not appear to function.

I don't know that answer to the pfind question - my guess is no - but Zigbert's Picker could do the job.

Anyone experiencing issues with Abiword? Some people on the Puppeee forum mention not being able to get keyboard focus without minimizing first or pressing tab or weird things like that. I can't reproduce it, so any insight would be appreciated.

Here is a potential fix for systems where traytemp doesn't work. Please install and restart X and let me know if the problem is fixed.
If your traytemp does work, please install the new version and let me know if it stops working. (Try it live as uninstalling the pet will remove traytemp completely).
This also comes with the cool little Xsensors utility.

It workd OK here but I have other problems with Abiword - across multiple versions of Puppy - it will not handle RTF files and messes with settings in DOC files.
I am now downloading OpenOffice_cutdown3-3.2.0.pet
May I remove Abiword and substitute the OpenOffice word processor as the default?

yeah you can do that. I don't know of any apps that depend on abiword (except the spellchecker in claws depends on abiword's dictionary).

Excellent! There were a couple of other settings I had wanted to tweak as well.
Thanks!

Since I am using the Seamonkey suite I guess I can also remove Claws.

I used Puppy Package Manager to load OpenOffice "cutdown" (v. 3-2.2.0).
I also added openoffice_missing3-2.2.0 and openoffice_dict-2.2.0
Every time I try to open a document OO freezes - it cannot be closed it has to be killed.

Probably cutdown a little too much
Try the OpenOffice SFS in the Puppeee Petstore.

Wow, I got lots of dead-end search results ... until I noticed that I was searching with only two "e's" rather than three!
http://puppeee.com/web/petstore/
Any chance of adding that to the Menu - near Puppy Package Manager?
Installed and working ... thanks!
BTW: Mozilla Sunbird is there but the site says it has been replaced by Lightning but neither addresses compatibility with Seamonkey. Anyone using either with Seamonkey? Sure would be great to synchronize calendars between my two computers.

Subject description: Seamonkey 2.0.8 Release Candidate - Stability Update |
|
There have been some of reports of crashes in Seamonkey 2.0.7 so this was just posted to the Seamonkey list support-seamonkey@lists.mozilla.org
| Quote: | You might have heard about the startup crasher that happened for a small number of our users in SeaMonkey 2.0.7 and left them in a pretty bad state.
We are committed to avoid things like that where we can, so we stopped issuing updates to that version, investigated the problem, found fixes and created a new version including those (and no other changes compared to 2.0.7).
Windows installers, Mac disk images and Linux packages of that new version are now available in the linux-i686, mac, and win32 subdirectories of http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/seamonkey/nightly/2.0.8-candidates/build1/
Please help us testing those, we want to know if they work as soon as possible so we can ship this update to our users possibly as early as tomorrow, hopefully still this week, in any case.
Thanks a lot,
Robert Kaiser |
