fluppy needs drivers compiled in it's kernel which is 2.6.35.7

No no no! That's just the firmware needed by the latest brcm80211 (brcmsmac/brcmfmac) Broadcom wifi drivers ...
but Fluppy-013 does not have a new-enough kernel to contain these new drivers, it still has the old b43 Broadcom driver.
For recent Broadcom wifi devices, Fluppy-013 probably needs the proprietary "wl" Broadcom wifi driver, but I'm not prepared to search through the 129 pages of this forum thread to discover if anyone has compiled this driver for Fluppy.

Bottom line: probably best to use Three-Headed-Dog or Dpup Exprimo.

No no no! Firmware is a binary "blob" which is not compiled at all. Thus, it's kernel version-independent.
What's more relevant is that the new Broadcom wifi drivers (which require this firmware) are found only in more recent kernels.

had fluppy installed at one time so it either has wl.ko driver installed in the iso or there is a pet and probably on first few pages since I cannot find it in my broadcom folder.

The current kernel version is 2.6.35.7. ....3rd party drivers included are ndiswrapper, keucr, wl, rtl8192se, rt3070sta, acerhdf, tkusb, and backported brcm80211. .........

tlchost, since has the broadcom wl driver already installed in the iso you can proceed to debug your problem and tempestuous is you man for that.

I recommend that Fluppy 013 users take a look at Dpup Exprimo, currently in version 5.X.7, and under aggressive evelopment:

Odd, the fluppy sfs file must have been corrupt....put in a new copy and all is well.

Oh right...I forgot that no one would really want to share things they have learned about either OS, whether or not newer apps run in them, stuff like that.

I have not yet found problems with any newer apps, but ...

The small miracle that was Fluppy 013 was Jemimah-centered, when she left the project it began to age-out ...

The problem spots are Internet-related apps, new hardware, and specialty apps which often require tweaks by the Puplet developer ... and that drives newer versions.

Midori is a unique case. Only Jemimah was able to get a stable Midori to work in Fluppy 013. Now that she is gone no one else will port Midori to another suitable Puplet so it appears that it will die with Fluppy 013. (Doubly sad because Midori has some unique features.)

New nics and printers and video hardware are popping up constantly and it is difficult to get anyone to chase-down bugs in an abandoned Puplet.

Therefore, much as Fluppy 013 has been the gold standard for our laptops and netbooks to-date, we are switching to the Squeeze project, now at just-released v. 5X8 ... and looking very promising.

I would be interested in following a forum. I use Fluppy 13, and find it to work well in most of the P4 and up laptops I have seen, and the one I use in my Dell D630 that actually recovers both suspend to RAM and suspend to disk (hibernation).
