FYI:
In a project for kids with an old computer running various old DOS games I wanted to install dosbox.
When I installed dosbox via the pet manager in puppy 510, it had some problems.
I had to install this pet also to got dosbox to work:
http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/dis ... -1.0.1.pet
I also symlinked in usr/lib/
libSDL_net-1.2.so.0 to libSDL-1.2.so.0.11.3
After that dosbox worked just fine.
Greetings from Belgium, Europe.
How I got dosbox working in puppy 510
Hi,
I just downloaded the portable version from:
http://portablelinuxapps.org/
moved it to my chosen folder and clicked (I may also have had to right click and choose Permissions and then Yes)
and it worked immediately on my Lucid Puppy 5.1 (though it might not be the latest version).
My regards
It is my understanding that the portable applications from the above site usually have any dependencies built-in (possibly at the cost of some duplication). Most of them seem to just work (sometimes after the above Permissions adjustment and possibly including ticking the three Exec boxes under Properties).
