hi

#226 Post by cgt_1991 »

runtt21 thanks for your answer, I would be delighted to see a "macpup chrome" :D
thinking of another topic, what if there was a "macpup pro" and a " macpup lite" ?
maybe "macpup pro" could be a puplet with many additional programs (wine, vlc media player, emesene, openoffice, additional themes, etc ...)
and "macpup lite" would be the classic we all know puplet: lighter and smaller.

thanks for your attention and excuse my English language

We will never build a pup that is bigger than 200 Mb. Takes way too long to download. To long to load up..... We May ( and I have tested this ) Build extra .sfs for use with macpup but that will be after the next pup comes out.

No , we dont do that anymore. We are macpup but we are not a mac knock off. I Think that is one of ZaZoo's themes . Both our Imago-macpup and megan-fox themes are based on that. They have the same clock.

The first "megan-fox" theme was a icewm theme that CatDude built for me for the default theme of macpup foxy 2.0 .

The First "megan" e17 theme was the default theme for macpup foxy e17.

Then I Built an update "megan-fox2" It has a different clock.

Macpup started as a mac os looking puplet. But we have outgrown that. We have our own look and style now. Both Prit and I wanted to get away from that . We started going in a new direction with macpup foxy 1.5 and macpup 412 . Fox 2 was more but we really felt we had come into our own when we switch to e17. Macpup has become it's own entity. It's not a imitation of something else.

I ran across several reviews that I had not seen before.I think this one is about Fox 3 .I guess the guy didn't like the default theme .That's OK.

This is an old review of Opera 061 but it's cool.

Following 01micko's tip about using puppy 511, The new snapshot of EFL and E17 is STABLE !!!! Ok I have only run it once but all the stuff that would cause a crash before are working correctly !!!! :D

The only bad thing is , because of the differences in the edje file format , I will have to rebuild a bunch of themes, backgrounds and even icons to work with this version. :(

Here is the first look at the "beta" snapshot, could be the next macpup if they don't drop the final version soon.I have compiled lots of extra modules like before and Itask-ng is working very well .I will show it off in the next sneak-peek. I am running the EFM file manager and my about theme window. This is the fourth snapshot of e that I have built since opera2 was released and the first stable one. So far I am very happy with it.

Itask-ng , I haven't had a seg-fault yet.Not saying it can't happen But It hasn't yet doing the stuff that caused it to fault before. :D

Development Update: I have built two new themes and rebuilt seven others to work with the beta snapshot. ( A-Special-Macpup,Wood5,MPBling,KDMP, MPFresh, MPHumanity,MPLight) Older themes like grunge, night bling,imago-macpup etc are going to be very difficult to update. I have also updated almost all of the animated icons. I haven't had any issues with this build of e so far. So this weekend I will start building the next macpup. :D

runtt21 hello, I'm glad that fence and out the next macpup.
what he meant was if we all macpup users (especially you) could do a complete guide which tells how to install and customize themes, add icons, shortcuts, wallpapers, gadgets, additional shelfs, configure e17, etc; as the information of e17 on the internet is very limited and confusing for beginners.

thank you very much and Excuse me by my English language

 " (especially you)" , You make me feel like I'm in some sort of trouble.

A complete guide for the set up and use of e17 would need to be it's own thread. There is alot to cover in that .I could see that taking some time and need lots of screenshots. Maybe after the next release. That would be useful for everybody , elive, pclinuxos, moonos, etc.
