Hello , I am new in PuppyLinux . I have recently installed the last PuppyLinux version. I have read about Puppy Linux and it is not based on Debian . So the apt-get command can not be executed.

- Is there a similar command to apt-get install in PuppyLinux ? Is there something similar to Synaptic ?
- Is it possible to install aptitude o Synaptic in PuppyLinux ?
- Is there any PuppyLinux Version compatible with Debian ? I mean , a PuppyLinux Version in which apt-get and Synaptic can be executed.

Thanks

programs are packages
packages are available in several places, here on forum, un dokupuppy, on personal puppy user sites and so on...

Puppy 4.3.1 can use directly several debian packages

apt-get in my opinion is a stupid command, a word meaning I am too dumb to search packages and solve dependencies reading terminal output after program launch

trust to me: I was never happy in using slackware package manager (gslapt) on puppy

the debian puppy is called "dpup" and you can find it here:
http://www.dpup.org/

I'm new to puppy as well,
I do not think there is an command line way of installing packages?

dpup works great - -
