After installed the updated pup-435 sfs, I just checked the performance of the Adobe flash player and Midori.
It plays fast on my P4, 2 GHz machine under VMware but produces very slow motion with my P2 Toshiba Tecra 8000 (neomagic driver). I configured Xorg exactly the same as I did with the other puppies I monitor.
I tried
file:///usr/share/examples/vector-images/omelette.swf
and my favorite testing swf at

Midori performance issue

Oh its just the stupidest thing............ My internet banking page needs a 10 digit customer number, and this version of Midori will only allow me to enter 9 digits. The previous .pet for 2.2 was fine, and when I install that .pet over this one, it is also fine, but the scroll bug is back..... sigh!

Took the puppy44.png done by afgs (http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic. ... 323#368323) and plopped it on scaled versions of the defaults, font is Pupcat (http://www.fontfinder.ws/6668/Pupcat.html).

Re: pnote
Pnote and Pcorner is a part of the Stardust Desktop Environment (DuDE) and can be installed on most Puppies. http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=53680tubeguy wrote:Just discovered pnote and corners- very slick!

I thought reading this was preferable to running around like a headless penguin
exclaiming, 'Beware the root'.

late tester
@Technosaurus
I am pretty late in testing this alpha, but did put some bugs in the google bug collector. All bugs are system independant, and may already be found / solved. How does that show in the bug collector ?
All in all I am happy with this version, even took it produce some work last night (Abiword). Only general disadvantage I see is that in the long run the themes are quite dark. (in Abiword I set the paper to white, to get a better impression how it looks on paper, but after working an hour on a text the contrast with the rest of the screen is fatiguing to the eyes).
Maybe you can keep the same themes, but brighten them up a bit.
For the rest I am very impressed that all installations I tried worked out of the box. No surpizes. Even immediate audio on all systems.
- Celeron 2400 with onboard video
- Athlon 1800XP with Nvidea card
- Athlon64 with onboard video
Going to test some more systems later today. I have on the list to go
- Pentium4 1500 with onboard video
- Pentium 2 laptop
- HP pavilion
- ASUS 1005P
