Bit of a showstopper :)
I posted libgsf-1.14.18-i486.pet on page 16 that solves the problem
Great thanks, fixed.............. :)

Two bad developments for me:
1. Yahoo refused to accept GAIM as a chat client.
2. Ayttm would not connect to Yahoo servers

Has anyone successfully chatted @Yahoo with Ayttm?

EDIT: Argh, ttuuxxx's Classic Pup 2.14X is the only Puppy I could get to do Yahoo Chat. Meebo, that is.

Sorry for "sinking" your enthusiasm with this "rocket" written by ttuuxxx on may 30 on the "Classic Pup 2.14X -- Updated 2 series" thread

Yes all my 100MB+ iso's were delete from Eric's puppylinux.ca server by the host. I need to find a new one which can handle my sort monthly downloads.
many dev's that have had iso's on .ca are in the same boat.

If you all are getting bored waiting for Ttuuxxx to come back, I could use your help testing Fluppy. It has most of the bugfixes that 4.3.2 has, plus a bunch of new stuff. I got a lot of inspiration from Ttuuxxx's work.

SeaMonkey crashes

#344 Post by cbs »

Hello everybody,
I'm a newbie and am running a frugal install.
I have just moved from 4.3.1 to 4.3.2
Here are my experiences:
1. Cannot use the pubsafe.2fs from 4.3.1... hence I could not move some of my internet bookmarks and other saved settings.
2. Desktop icons loaded OK when booted from live CD but only showed generic icons after frugal install.
3. New SeaMonkey is excellent... it stops the flash programmes from loading, hence making web pages load faster and uses less resources.
4. But interestingly, some other sites without flash lags when loading and other sites like www.airasia.com would cause SeaMonkey to crash.
5. When editing the "preferences" in SeaMonkey the display of dialog boxes lags for a few seconds after the tab is selected.

I can setup my bookmarks again, I can live with the generic icons on the desktop because I really love the function in SeaMonkey that stops flash programs from running in the web pages.
Is this SeaMonkey 2.04 or is this a Puppy 4.3.2 tweak?
Why does SeaMonkey crashes on certain sites?
Why does SeaMonkey lag or use a lot of resources in certain sites?

I hope someone can point me to what I did wrong in the setup because I do not experience these problems with 4.3.1... except that Seamonkey 2.0.0 loads all the flash programs.

Finished Yet

Should we continue to wait for this to be finished, or simply move on?

wait,

he said he would be back on it when he finished the job he was on now.

impatience causes bad outcomes!

scsijon
warning: i'm after a barebones version of 4.3.2 v4 when he has time, for my PuppyRunt to live on top of, so I do have a vested interest.

Yes, I remember that....but I also saw this:

http://208.109.22.214/puppy/viewtopic.p ... f68e23e660

So based on that thread started by him on June 14, 2010, I took it that he was back....and thus I wondered if 432 was a dead issue.

I'll wait......I'm already using this as my primary system anyway. Understandably, real life has to come first. :)

Take a look around, in the meanwhile

Instead of sitting and waiting anxiously, I would advise to use Puppy 4ever or Fluppy... both of them seem quite promising!
