Lucid Puppy 002 - Bug Fixes

#1 Post by playdayz »

This is the place to post bug fixes. If you find the bug and the solution yourself, please post that all here. If you look at the Bug Reports forum and find the solution to a bug that is there, please copy the bug report over to here and add your fix to it. I hope to be able to work primarily from this forum, implementing the fixes into the next version of Lucid Puppy. Thank you.

Gtkdialog apps don't display text properly

#2 Post by playdayz »

Bug Report. Barry noticed that the text in SNS and other Gtkdialog apps was wonky. There is no gtkdialog in Ubuntu Lucid so I used the one from Puppy 4. That works but has the display problem. I will try to use gtkdialog from Debian Unstable. (BTW, There was also no keyboard_drv in Lucid Lyn--they are using evdev instead--so using the one from Debian Unstable worked.)

There is also a dev file for devx

That link will fix it Lobster

JWM blackened icon fix

This is coolpup's fix for quirky provided by Barry repackaged for Lucid Puppy. The Quirky package will not work.

At the moment I see this as a work-around. I will get the latest sources and try to compile the correct version for Lucid. The original Lucid Lynx library is in Lupu but it is an older version. This is a newer version and does work for me. Please report results on the other thread http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=53897

Abiword 2.82 fix for crash when selecting "Format-Create or modify Styles.

You are not going to believe this, but I just installed the PET:
abiword-2.8.2-i486.pet and the crash was gone!

Spoke too soon.
abiword is not starting right.
If I select help, about abiword, the display clears up.
But it is not right upon initial start.
