Subject description: new link for download

Hi all Puppy users

First off I would like to applagize to anyone who download MyWolfe-010 or MyWolfe-011.
Mywolfe-010 had a file missing that made pfilefind not work and I had upgreaded the kernel
to one the was not stable. Then I found out with MyWolfe-011 that you could not add a sfs
without having it hang and then when you hard rebooted the desktop was a mess.

So here is MyWolfe-012.

MyWolfe-012 is more based on puppylinux 4.3 and up than on tpup as it was before.
It has all the normal libs that 4.3 has so you should be able to install just about
anything that will install in 4.3.

I have those upgraded the glibc to 2.10 for so many program are starting to require
libc.so.6 from glibc 2.7 or higher.

Because I tend to use a lot of Google services and store document and
picture on there servers, not to motion that Google code is where
I am serving up MyWolfe from. So you may notice that a lot of things are not in my puplet.
But I also have some sfs add on's that I have on my site at Google code.

I also what to thank jemimah for her Pwireless-2 it is now the default connection used in
MyWolfe 012. She also helped me with the icons for Google-chrome downloads.
She also made a small display set that I used most of but not all of.

I am using Barry Kauler's Woof build system to compile my puplet.

This one has kernel version 2.6.30.5 tickless_smp. Xine-ui 0.99.5 compiled only ageist
xinelib 1.1.17 to include the xine-pluger. It also has the lastest build of Google-Chrome
Dev 5.0.356.2.

I have also redone part of ttuuxx's streamer to work with xine

Mywolfe-012 is offered in the iso so that maybe more people with try it I beleave I made a mistake just offering the frugal file on last MyWolfe

So here it is

So enjoy it and let me know what you think.

The md5 is :6f1aaadb5adeb7db1959f423527939cb

Edit for new link.

New link for download. It seams that Google found out I had been hosting iso on there code site and they are not happy so starting a new site. Will someone try the download and tell me how it goes for you.

Site is showing "The "/ISO/wolfe-012.iso/downloadl" file could not be found or is not available. Please select another file." when I try and d/l.

Cancel that- site now has button for download. Will give some feedback later.

Thanks for making the effort to go back to the iso form. I had not made any movement from the Mywolfe-008 because the others were in frugal form.

I like it!!!!!. It just works- its quick etc . Just need to work out how to change the font size in Chrome! I think this might be the Puppy I install ( although I did like Stardust 013 as well)

Hi lemmy999

Glad to hear you like it. As for the font thing I have looked at the forms and the faq not much help but if you hold down the Ctrl and tap the + key it will make it easer to see sites that don't allow override of there font size. And Ctrl - will reduce it.

Enjoy

I really like your sounds and wallpaper.

How to fix the too small fonts: http://www.webupd8.org/2009/11/set-minimum-font-size-in-chromium-linux.html

Were you able to just drop in a new libc? I was under the impression that that would be catastrophically bad unless you recompiled everything that depends on it. That would make my life easier too if it is possible...

Your iso is small enough you can mirror it on drop.io for free as well.

I've always thought that Xine-UI was a little clunky... have you tried Xfmedia? Xfmedia is in the Puppy 4 repos. It's a Xine frontend, but it's more optimized for playing music than movies, thought it does play movies just fine. The interface is a lot nicer in my opinion.

How do I get to my wired network? I keep all my personal files on a Windows XP computer. When I try to set up the server address, nothing happens.

My Orinioco CS PCMCIA wireless card is not showing in pwireless2 even though the module info shows that the module is loaded. Any ideas on getting my wireless to work? It's the only interface that I have on this old Tosiba laptop.

I do really like the look of the MyWolf build. nice and clean and not many distractions for the grandma type that I am giving this to.

EDIT: Forgot to mention it works no problem in Puppy 431 and other puplets maybe it is Pwireless2.

Hi husker_pick

I was not able to find what I see as a driver for your card. But I did finish MyWolfe-013 and with the newer kernel and all the drivers that Barry put in that list it may be your best be for the older laptop. This distro also has the full net setup which I believe will get you connected to the net and it still has the clean desktop of MyWolfe-012.

Hey GrumpyWolfe,

I'll download it now and give it a shot. I have downloaded the Lucid Woof and it didnt work either. I'll let you know in a bit how 013 goes for my older card. I think it has something to do with the yenta pcmcia driver not exacly working with this old machines bios.
