Subject description: Or how to avoid overheating on the Edubook...

Ever since BarryK and others have reported on heat problems on the Edubook, the thought of using frequency scaling to control power consumption has crossed my mind. there is a programmer's reference, found here:
ftp://ftp.dmp.com.tw/DMP_Vortex86_Series_Software_Programming_Reference_091216.pdf

That should work towards building a cpufreq module for use with the Vortex86 family. Unfortunately, I do not do Linux kernel drivers, so would anyone be bold enough to try?
