Searching Puppy?

#1 Post by daftdog »

I'm curious to know why there is such a difference between search engines.
For example, if I do a search for 'acpitool' using the forum search I get 39 hits. If I do the same search using the Murga Forum search in the Firefox Search Engines list (in the top right hand corner of the browser) then I get just over one thousand results.
Can anyone explain to this daftdog why there is such a big difference in the two results?

(Using Firefox357 on Puppy431)

Thanx, racepres; I thought it might be a function of phpbb but wasn't sure. (I also use welminded.com with good results.)

where is the motivation to improve it on the part of phpbb when another way is readily available and other avenues of forum improvement are still to be done?
no excuses offered for not incorporating a decent search link in the forum header though. that issue you have to take up with this forum's admin. you will not be the first to do so.
