Puppy Linux sfs compatibility chart

#1 Post by Dingo »

This is a first-version, temporary, (needing accurate checking) Puppy Linux sfs compatibility chart, I made in order to instantaneously show the sfs compatibility of a certain puppy version. Since Puppy is not Ubuntu and it does not leaves its users in a desert when a news version comes out, it is very important (for users and developers, know what sfs version is compatible with a certain puppy version)

For example, knowing Puppy 3.xx and 4.xx-4.2.xx are able to read sfs v. 3.0 I made, for older puppies, ever sfs in 3.o version (4.2.xx series can read 3.1 also but Puppy 3.01 only 3.0)

I have personally checked 3.01, 4.2.1 (2.6.25.16 and 2.6.21.7 kernel) Puppy Linux version, and since these two kernels in Puppy have been resulting working with 3.0 and 3.1 sfs version, I assumed these two sfs versions working for all later puppies using the same kernels (feedbacks will be appreciated to confirm or correct eventually errors)

a pdf version is attached
