Preparing for Puppy II |
|
* Play the sample (dial up) or full version of white rabbit (broadband)
http://www.zen45800.zen.co.uk/tmxx/dido.html
OK that is not essential - but . . . well . . . eh . . . "Are we having fun yet?"
* Logos go here (posting them to this forum is fine) Hey what do you think Gimp and Inkscape are for? Christmas?
Come on guys don't be shy . . .
http://puppylinux.org/wikka/Puppy2
the anim was done in Puppy incidentally (my first ever drawsfs - a java prog)
We need a codename for Puppy2 (well maybe not but why not?)
eg
Puppy Sequel
Kitten
Puppy K (after Barry)
P2 (yep it sounds familiar but is available)
* Mirror space
Put your links here (reserved for Puppy2)
http://puppylinux.org/wikka/Puppy2
* Who have you told about Puppy 2 lately?

Ever hear of the Atari Lynx? It was a portible Atari system. Like the Game Gear (Sega's portable) it had a backlit color screen. Another thing in common was that it was huge (compared to modern handhelds). Anyways, I got one ten years ago from a rummage sale, and one of the games it came with was "California Games," which consisted of BMX, Surfing, Halfpipe, and Hackysack. After you wiped out in Surfing it would ask "Are we having fun yet?" I used to spend so much time with that game that just reading that line makes me hear its soundtrack. It also makes me see the giant spinning license plate in the sky that the game-selector menu was on.
Codenames, eh?

I'm sorry Mark, but I do not like "Puppy 2k" as a choice... It reminds me of the year 2000 and that means that it's making me feel like the version is 6 years old...
I'm sorry Pizza, but none of those proposed names jump up and tell me that "this is a good one"...
That said, I've been told (to my face) that I'm bad at coming up with code name and all my recommended operation names were shot down... I guess that I'm not the best critic for names...

My genteel sister suggested " The Dog's Bollo*@$ " which is an English term meaning very good indeed . . .
Shame about the timing otherwise we could have used that famous Greyhound name: "Santas Little Helper" from the Simpsons

Keeping with the Outback theme, how about something like "Puppy Dingo 2".
http://www.outback-australia-travel-secrets.com/australian_dingo.html describes the dingo as: | Quote: | | Let me introduce you to the Australian dingo, a friendly, intelligent and inquisitive canine, and an integral and necessary part of our environment, the beautiful Australian Outback. |

Was Puppy a female?
If so, how about Son of a bitch, or SOB for short
