Greetings,
As a community support volunteer with OLPC, I have advocated for the XOs that have been sent to several online members from this Forum and as it is great to see that what appears to be great progress in getting Puppy on the XO.
Separately, I have sent email to Barry K proposing how to fix his bricked XO which will require a serial adapter to re-set the internal clock.
I would glad to help test upcoming versions and offer way to get the word to the wider OLPC community.

Welcome aboard!
What I find unusual with the XO is the quick move to another processor (VIA) when the LX800 (a faster version of the Geode) can run well (using Puppy Linux, that is).
I have tested LX700 vs LX800 in the Wizbook, and LX800 is a lot more responsive.
I have a Geode GX2 miniPC but no XO.
