Can't get Aircrack's airodump to work Subject description: aircrack built without problems, iw installed, but airodump don't work |
|
With older puppies (4.2 and 4.2.1 retro) i compiled aircrack-ng 0.93 without problems but today i migrate to 4.3.1 (with the new kernel) to use a tp-link TL-WN422G, a wireless usb device. After compiling aircrack-ng 1.0 and install this pet(iw 0.99): http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?p=292066#292066
i received this error when airmon-ng or airodump-ng are called:
| Code: |
ioctl(SIOCSIWMODE) failed: Device or resource busy
ARP linktype is set to 1 (Ethernet) - expected ARPHRD_IEEE80211,
ARPHRD_IEEE80211_FULL or ARPHRD_IEEE80211_PRISM instead. Make
sure RFMON is enabled: run 'airmon-ng start wlan0 <#>'
Sysfs injection support was not found either. |
[/code]
libnl, required for iw, is present on /usr/lib but i'm not sure which verson is. aircrack-ng official site recommends 1.0-pre8 or later(help topics shows info about 1.0-pre6). How i check it?
What more i need to get aircrack-ng working?
Also i tested with the old 0.93 version. I received the same error.
Currently is the only program that i need to use via linux (wind*ws version is harder to make working) and i need a solution to inspect my network(so many leechers here).
EDIT: puppy has a reference about libnl but this library is not present

I think that interface cannot run in monitoring mode. (IMO)

Here in peru, this adapter is sold for wireless monitoring and i tested with other live-cd like wifislax, but i prefer use puppy to have everything in one side.

Finally i found a compiled libnl package:
http://repository.slacky.eu/slackware-12.0/libraries/libnl/1.0-pre8/
The minimal version that works with aircrack-ng (a tgz package, just click and install)
putting it and iw 0.99 now airmon-ng works fine, After restart and starting monitor mode i can do my job normally. Well, almost(aireplay-ng doesn't use AP channet automatically and sends a pretty error.
| Code: |
ioctl(RTC_IRQP_SET) failed: Inappropriate ioctl for device
Make sure enhanced rtc device support is enabled in the kernel (module
rtc, not genrtc) - also try 'echo 1024 >/proc/sys/dev/rtc/max-user-freq'.
|
However, i'm able to send/capture packets even with this problem.
