I have a question about the gimp 2.6.8 pet.
I've downloaded it and installed. It is running fine until now. But there is one problem- I have no jpg export option !?
Did I miss something?
Barry might of change Jpg from when the gimp package was built, I might have to either make a system link fix or recompile it.

Note, there is an "official" Gimp that I compiled for Quirky 1.0, run the Puppy Package Manager, 'puppy-quirky' repository, Graphics section.

Is it possible to have a way in the PPM to search [or display] ALL packages in ALL repositories? :D

What I want is to know that when I search...
If a package exists...
It WILL be found. :D

Is it possible to include wildcards in the search term?

Thanks for the .PET package,Barry. You won't get this kind of support anywhere else.

Now it's time to get rid of the ugly OpenBox/Lxpanel and pimp that Quirky:

Lovely! Now it looks more like a real dog :)

There's just one little thing that's missing in JWM - a menu with rounded corners.
Everything looks great, except for the menu which is soooo 70's-looking :)

new snap2 version for Quirky

#39 Post by lstandish »

There was a problem reported for snap2 - I believe the problem was due to a variable could have a null-value, potentially crashing gtkdialog. (http://linuxbackups.org/node/37)

I immediately did a bugfix release, version 4.8. Please update the snap2 pet for Quirky. Download link for the latest pet package: http://files.lstandish.com

(In building the new pet I used Barry's pet.spec corrections as posted on his blog: http://bkhome.org/blog/?viewDetailed=01572)

Installed jwm2-492-q1.pet, then tried to run it using a console command, but got a warning that it couldn't be run because a window manager was already running.

What I'm trying to do is apply the JWM Theme = Black-VG.
How to do it?

You need to exit from X, then type "xwin jwm".
To revert, exit from X and type "xwin openbox"

I have tried the jwm2-492-q1.pet but switching to JWM I have no icons for free space or network connection at the bottom right.

Type "xwin jwm" and it will become the default.

Ouch, spoke too soon. :(

1. With JWM installed...
I switched to using JWM as instructed...
BUT...

2. Could see no sign on the [Desktop?] menu of any configuration arrangements/choices for a JWM theme...
So...

3. Installed jwm-vista3.pet linked HERE.

4. That made no difference.
Still couldn't see any way to activate this theme. :( :?

5. Didn't save the session at shut-down [all changes will be lost].
Came back to report.
How should it be done?

Yet another snap2 update

#47 Post by lstandish »

EDITED BY LLOYD. This post originally announced version 4.9. The latest version is now 4.10. Please update for Quirky. Pet download: http://files.lstandish.com

Changes since version 4.8:
A snap2 user reported trouble with remote backup configuration which led me to discover that the check for absolute path for the backup storage directory (a no-no) could be circumvented. Also added checks that allow snap2 to tolerate incorrect (empty) variables in the settings file, a check for rsync on the remote server (for remote server backups), detection and workaround for oversized logfiles (too big for gtkdialog to display internally), plus the confusing "Save Storage Settings" was removed.

Request for Quirky Pets

#50 Post by ragaman »

Does anyone have a working .pet of Gyachi for Quirky. I've tried .pet's in the forum and .deb's in Ubuntu repositories. All of them gave me a segmentation fault.

Thanks.
