Puppy Linux Forum Team,
I have problems installing my samsung printer ML-1610 on my Puppy Version (4.3.1). I run the CUPS printer wizard but any driver works fine. Simply doesn't do nothing.
I wrote to samsung for the .ppd file, they wrote me:
"We verified the database and found that ML-1610 is not listed on CUPS.
However, you can visit the URL given for more information:
http://www.linuxprinting.org/show_print ... ng-ML-1610"
I dont know if this is the way to fix the problem.
Any body have some tip to solve the problem?
I would apreciate the help.
Thanks,
adding a ML-1610 samsung printer

Samsung CLP-350N
Hi,
Really new to these - Posting & Linux, but somehow got my 350N working. Btw, did you try the 1650 driver?
Could not find the Samsung CLP-350N driver from the CUPS Printer Wizard. They only have the ML series. Tried a few of those, strange thing is the Test page came out fine but PDF file would not print. Tried the RAW driver too, test page OK but still cannot print.
Finally what worked for me was the "Ghostscript" driver, ie: instead of selecting "Samsung" at the Model/Driver page, I scroll down to find "Ghostscript".
Hope this work for you.
Background:
This is for Puppy Linux 4.3.1, Samsung CLP-350N connected to LAN switch. Puppy software printing from: PDF Viewer 0.1.7
Well, i was only doing some basic printing, text & screen-shot for emergency OS fix -> er that one that start with W... and end with XtraPainfulPROblems .
