Dell Latitude D400 and USB pen drive

#1 Post by ijm51000 »

Hi Guys

I have a 2GB twinmos usb drive onto which I can install Puppy, latest version, however my dell decides the installation is corrupt. I can take the same drive and boot from a Fijitsu laptop no problem.

I have updated the BIOS of the dell

A 1GB GENX usb drive works ok

A 128MB GENX usb drive works ok

I have tried partioning the drive to 128 and 256

anyone had the same problem, I am assuming the drive geometery is the problem but I am stuck.

regards

Ian

I don't have any experience which USB drives that big. Which Puppy version are you using?

Did you install Puppy using the "Make USB drive" wizard, option 2?
