From the US, the wiki often stops responding, and the forum sometimes does. I go away and come back later, and things are working again...

Hmmm, one reason that we changed from goosee.com, which is hosted by arrowweb.net in the usa, is because some people here in Australia were plagued with problems accessing the wiki.

Now we seem to be having the opposite problem...

Time Out or Outage

#20 Post by raffy »

If I remember right, there is a time-out feature in PHP, and when the server is loaded, some users may experience being timed out. With large scripts such as those in PhpBB and Wikka, that can happen. So being timed out is dependent on the server, but only as far as loading is concerned and possibly not on its location.

As to pupweb.org not being accessed, that must be a server uptime problem. In mid-December (last month), we already experienced a servage.net outage. We need to confirm these recent reports if it was an outage.

Yes, I also experience the forum is down, quite often -- I also just go away for awhile, then come back and it works.

access problems

#22 Post by alex_b »

Hi everyone

It has been my experience, these last few days, of the forum not being available. Had thought it was my poor wireless broadband, as I'm not at my home location. Seems those who have posted here are having the same experience.

For what it's worth, I haven't had any problem accessing the forum lately. Sometimes I can't. Then I go away for a while. When I come back it works. I haven't had to do that for the last several days.

The problems accessing puppylinux.org and pupweb.org sound like high volume issues (heavy traffic load) with the provider's servers or the international trunk lines. Both domains are hosted by Servage.net and the IP for these domains is 62.214.98.57, which is physically located in Denmark. I would be interested in knowing if European visitors to the websites are having the same access issues.
