fsck.ntfs - does a pet for it exist?

#1 Post by William (Dthdealer) »

Puppy ships with the fsck variations for ext2, ext3, minux, msdos and vfat but not NTFS. Does a pet for the NTFS fsck version (fsck.ntfs) exist?

Didn't know about ntfsfix - thanks.
EDIT: However it refers me o the use of chkdsk
The problem has been solved now anyway - thankyou though.

How to fsck or ntfsfix a FAT32 partition in Puppy?

#4 Post by Dromeno »

I have my TrueCrypt volumes formatted as FAT32 so I can access those in Puppy as well as Windows.

But sometimes TrueCrypt makes mistakes and I use windows chkdsk for maintenance and repair

Is that also possible in puppy and if so how?

fsck is for ext partitions, nftsfix for NFTS. But what about FAT32?

Both GParted and Pdrive can be used to scan-for, find and fix problems in the various different types of partition file systems.

Thanks. Gparted does the job!

And here is the route (perhaps handy for anyone who comes across this thread and is looking for a similar solution as me):

Menu > system > Gparted > [select device] > partition > check
