You need to edit the syslinux.cfg file (it might also be called extlinux.conf if you installed on an ext filesystem)

The syntax is not too complicated, you should be able to figure it out pretty easy.

Hi Jemimah, I downloaded the Atom version of Puppeee1.0 and did a frugal install on my Acer D250

I tested the Omellette thing and although it almost made it within 5 seconds maybe 6 it has a kind of jerking delay noticeable.

If one have noticed then one find it annoying while somebody not knowing may ignore it until they suddenly get aware of it.

It is not noticeable on small short files on BBC but on streaming video on my local svtplay.se which have copyrighted tv programs so not sure if others can see them.

Radio works good.

Gxine fail to play those mp4 files me have taken from youtube.

I've not tested much else lack imagination on what to test.

Distro look nice.

Hi Jemimah.
Just used whatever default ROX desktop that it booted with, not aware which one, looked just like Puppy to me...
I also noticed the video "jerkiness" that Noob described, forgot to mention it earlier, sorry.

You need to switch to Performance mode for video (especially on Atom). It'll be jerky otherwise because your CPU is throttled to 800Mhz or so.

Not sure what's up with your Pwidgets then. It works for me.

Noob is totally okay with me Smile

Re the jerkiness. I t is barely noticeable. The D250 have only 1GB RAM so that could maybe be one reason???

A lot of Puppy users talk about glxgears and it would be cool to test different versions to see how they come out on glxgears.

I am a lazy person, sure I did a search one day but have not managed to get how one activate it.

Is it in the PPM and one have to install it? Could someone tell if it could give a good picture on what is going on for us who have noticed this jerkiness?

I guess my machine have Intel Graphic chip 945 something. How do I know if I use the right driver?

Nooby, just open the terminal and type: glxgears

If you get more than a few FPS, you have the right driver.

Before I make the release announcement, can some people test out my isos, md5sums, and zip packages to make sure I didn't screw up anything major.

1. md5sums checked out OK for all 5 files
2. For 1000H the atom iso booted and successfully did a version upgrade from 502 to 504, saved OK. Did a fresh frugal install on sd card using atom zip file and bootinst.bat, saves and reboots work.
3. For 701SD celeron iso booted and saved OK on reboot to sd card. Did a fresh install on reformatted sd card with bootinst.bat and celeron zip, saves and reboots worked fine.

Hi

Just got P1.0 and testing on 2 701SD's.
One has XP and the other Xandros installed.

Am booting from SD cards on both units (all seems well)
and have done a manual frugal to the SSD on the linux unit.

All the basics seem ok.

Jemimah - this is outstanding - Puppeee1.0 combined with
your excellent and well thought out choice of sfs packages, transform the EeePc range capabilities, from fairly basic to,
do virtually anything.

Thank you so much for everything you do.

Very best regards - Ray

Jemimah, the old bootinstall.bat is there again Confused

Talking about the bootinstall/syslinux...
I have my syslinux.cfg edited to point to a subfolder this way:
Code:

LABEL puppeee
MENU LABEL Boot Puppeee !
KERNEL /PuppEee/vmlinuz
APPEND initrd=/PuppEee/initrd.gz psubdir=PuppEee

I think that is a good idea because the .zip installer is intended to be used in a removable media, and this media can be shared with other distros (all them using the same syslinux)... i.e. puppeee arcade

*Aditional .sfs files (i.e. firefox.sfs) must be added to the root of the device... and "activated" in the bootmanager of each distro
Are not loaded by default, but all them are availables for all the distros

Just checked all 4 files - it's the right version. Not to say it always works 100%. If you have problems, use Puppeee to make bootable disks - that's always worked for me.
