Might be a more correct place to post this.
I have tried to put together a XBMC for Puppy 412.
You can see some screen shots here and also download the pets:

Hey, goingnuts...

What is good about XBMC? Why try it? What do you prefer about it?

Oh, you probably have already tried this, but here is how I make sfs files out of pets: take the pet, run pet2tgz, then unpack it (run tar -xzvf [file]), then run dir2sfs [folder], all from command. Don't know if that will help or not.

Oh, and that is for 4.2.1 and earlier sfs files; you gotta run the converter if you are using 431, but that is simple too.

I am trying to make a multi media center for Puppy. XBMC is just one possibility. I think the user interface is nice and quick. I can control it via remote (lirc) which is a nice feature. I only miss TV-functions but I am working on it.

I did make a SFS-version and XBMC can run but gives to many "segment faults" or something like that. This does not happen installed by PETs - don't know why.

mange tak! (for the rest of you, that's Danish for Many Thanks)

Looks great, I can't wait to try it. One problem - I can't seem to download the Dependencies pet. Is that file still available?

You were speaking about a sfs, which is an approach I like most, but I don't see the file on your site.
Also will it run on other distro's like dpup, upup?

Wooddave: Glad you made it!

Béèm: The SFS-version is not at the page as it did not run well (xbmc crash) - I will try again following Steve_s advise above and test the SFS-version again.
Update: One problem with the SFS is that the update of libc6 does not work properly. The symbolic link libc.so.6 in the SFS points to libc-2.7.so. But when running P412 with the SFS the old symbolic link from P412 basic
wins - keep pointing to libc-2.6.1.so. Anybody know why and how to fix?

I have not tested upup or dpup - but it runs in P430 if libcpre is added. As both XBMC and the dependencies comes from Hardy, upup is likely to run. But in the end it will be a question about missing dependencies. Why not try installing the XBMC_P412_MAIN.pet (or convert it to SFS first) and then see which dependencies are missing?
